- English teacher, travel lover, couchsurfer, and catastrophe attractor, I am haphazardly making my way through my 20s and (slowly) telling the story. In 2009 I moved to the rainy side of Japan where I have been teaching at a public junior high school ever since. I live with a ferociously cute kitten named Picasso, and I am planning my next adventure. **August 2011 Update** I left Japan in the care of new ALTs all bright and shiny with anticipation. I left my worldly possessions in various boxes in Minnesota. I left my beloved street kitten in the loving care of my parents. And after a brief week at home I left for an adventure through Asia and the Middle East with a backpack and a plan that is hazy at best. Let the adventure begin!

She is beautiful.
Yeah, she is. She is also way dehydrated and malnourished, but I'm working on fixing that.
I'm trying not to get too attached, just in case.
